Rocky Mountain Internet Subsidiary Granted
Approval to Provide Complete Voice and Data Services in California

December 9, 1998

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)Rocky Mountain Broadband
Expands Its National Growth

Rocky Mountain Internet Inc. (NASDAQ
SmallCap Market-RMII, RMIIW) announced
today its subsidiary, Rocky Mountain
Broadband (RMB), has received approval from
the California Public Utilities Commission to
provide inter- and intra-LATA telephone
services in the California area as a
non-dominant inter-exchange carrier.

Rocky Mountain Broadband, RMI's
communications division, will provide the
California area with long distance phone
service starting next quarter. RMB will offer
competitive pricing as well as bundled
low-cost telecommunications and Internet
products for the retail and business market.
This will coincide with RMI's current offerings
of full Web and e-commerce solutions --
voice/data and multimedia service to that
area.

"Approval of Rocky Mountain Broadband as a
California inter-exchange carrier adds
significantly to Rocky Mountain Internet's
national reach and further positions the
company as a national provider," said Douglas
H. Hanson, chairman, president and CEO of
Rocky Mountain Internet. "This is another
essential development to further instill our
corporate vision."

Under the certification, Rocky Mountain
Broadband can operate as a provider of
inter-and intra-LATA telecommunications
services offered by common carriers in the
state of California. In addition, RMB has filed
to be a CLEC and provide local telephone
services in California.

"As a California communications provider, we
will also be able to market local and
long-distance services to our
California-based Internet customers, RMI
gained through our acquisition last week of
InternetNow!, to broaden the solutions
breadth we continue to provide to our
growing customer base," said Hanson.

"Combined with our state-of the-art billing
system, the company will be able to support
these services on a consolidated online
system, which will enhance user experience
and service."
