Sorry bout that $50 comment, David. I bow down to 100 times profits. I'm still hanging onto my puts though, and I'll tell everybody why.
For one, ESS's VCD chip is FAR SUPERIOR to CUBE's. Hand's down customers are buying from ESS over CUBE -- this is fact -- just listen in to the conference call Monday afternoon, I'm sure the TRUTH will be found. You see Alex B is either a big b#stard or COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to the facts. He is leading investors on and this is NOT RIGHT. CUBE's conference call was the biggest FRAUD I'd ever listened to; for a moment I was afraid the shorts would pull out and my options would be worthless. Tell me, if earnings were so GREAT as everbody likes to say, why was the stock down 1/2 today? Why was ESST up 2?
Superiority: ESS has gone on to a 0.35 micron die size, CUBE has not. Smaller is better and that makes CUBE instantly uncompetetive in the VCD market.
You got your day yesterday (short as it was).
WARNING alex IS SCREWING YOU OVER, AND I'M PISSED OFF ABOUT IT.
CUBE is losing market share FAST. They have subsequently cut prices. When everybody's hero A.B. said prices were down $20-25, he forgot to mention about those nasty rebates. The real cost is $17-$19. And going down, down, down.
THE OTHER AREAS OF GROWTH: You know, the one's CUBE enthusiasts are harping on. They are NON EXISISTANT and WON"T be a contribution to earnings for another year: it's fruitless to be concentrating on this.
As far as DVD chip growth, "The bigger piece of the pie," it's shrinking fast because guess who has the better MPEG2/AC3 product?
How's that for research? |
