There is nothing mythical about the Big Bang. On the contrary it is a remarkably successful theory whose many predictions have been checked in considerable detail. There is little question now that the Big Bang will stand the test of time. The issue of boundaries as you pose it differs little from the arguments of the end of the earth as posed many centuries ago.
