Right on John ... the implications are mind-boggling
... profound changes to our sales and distribution
infrastructure ... love your Blockbuster example ...
if I was their CEO, I'd be working hard on how to make
money on the web instead of building new stores that will
be empty in a small integer number of months.

And I'm way hyped on the implications of virtual corporate
LANs ... lots of implications for small biz guys ... and
distributed collaborators like me.

The fact that my ISP geared up SO fast (you can see my earlier
reports on this ISPs ramp-up around msg #3700) is very
signficant to me. They ramped up in six months ... their ISDN ramp
was 12+ months ... and they are pretty fast campers.

The ISP salesperson said that GTE is offering the installation
promo (basically the modem for free) to compete directly with
WebTV in our area. That was interesting ... that GTE is thinking
in terms of specific competition ... and making pricing decisions
on that basis ... if true, of course.
