>>There is little question now that the Big Bang will stand the test of time. The issue of boundaries as you pose it differs little from
the arguments of the end of the earth as posed many centuries ago.<<

On the contrary, there are many problems with the theory. The fact
that the early universe contains an abundace of carbon, as well as
late stage galaxies and stars, apparent large structures which
condradicts the big bang's prediction of a more even distribution of
matter, and the more recent discovery that quasers may actually be
much closer to us. These are but just a few of the problems.

It is easy to become trapped into a theory and then to resolve the
discrepancies by seeing what you want to see (e.g., the 1/trillionth temperature variation in the bang explaining the large structural formations, inflation and superstring theory, etc...). Remember, the Big Bang theory is only a supplement to the standard cosmology theory
of the universe. It is this theory that faces the greatest challenge
going forward. Although the speculative nature of the theory may be healthy, John Galt will not accept such speculation as fact before more information is made available. There is much to learn.

As for boundaries, John Galt does not understand your position on this. He submits that the boundaries of 'universe' have not been defined and 'universe' must therefore be relegated to myth. Your analogy does not compute.
