I bought ATHM at 26 last year and sold at 24 (D'oh!) on the news that Microsoft, Compaq and Intel were teaming up to kick ATHM's ass with DSL technology. I have been out of the loop since then, but would like to know: Have the "evil three" dropped their DSL plans? Based on the Fool buy report, it looks like they are going with cable, and the Bell companies are the only DSL players remaining. What are the chances that Microsoft will "fold in" some cable modem characteristics into Windows and shut ATHM out, as per its normal business strategy of stomping competitors?

Just curious, and thanks in advance for any info.
