Your missing the point - deliberately, I should add. There is a clear difference between public statements and perjury. Lying under oath carries with it a penalty as meted out by the judiciary. That is why we have oaths - testimony in the legal system is crucial to the execution of justice, and therefore, any failure of truth demeans the process and diminishes justice. Mr. K.
