Tony: Brown and Co. from what I hear are very good. But I did hear a few complaints during the last major inet move a couple weeks back, when everyone got hosed.

Brown does have acceptance requirements. You have to open the account with $15,000. Have a net worth >$50,000 (exclusive of your home) and have investment experience >5 years .... I think it is 5 years.

But they have $5 orders up to 5000 shares and $10 limit orders. I am paying $30 per 1000 at Schwab. Making them some serious money.

Perhaps others here will suggest a broker that they like. I was not hearing good things about Datek, Ameritrade, and a few others. E*trade seems to be streaky but most like them.
