You can "unconnect" a file extension from an application.

It took me ages to find where...

You are in windows explorer again.

Menu "view"

option "options"

tab "file types"

select the application that you want to disconnect (associate?)

then "edit"

check (or select if there is more than one) that the file
extension is the one you want.

then it sort of depends.

you can sometimes just remove, or edit or change a flag to an application, etc.

Hope this helps.

I once found this then spent an hour trying to find it again in the
control panel...

Crispin

and hit.
