ASND and COM$ action Maybe i'm a conspiracy theorist or something but the timing of recent events in ASND and COM$ are peculiar. ASND goes up 6 or so the other day breaking out of the mid 50s and soon after 3COM further cements its relationship with Siemans. I just have to think there was some discussion between COM$ and LU about potential of merger and COM$ has come away not only with recent confidence that it can go it alone but a competitive attitude towards LU. The Siemans deal should certainly quash the rumors for now. Knowledge of this has made it clear that the next best acquisition bet for LU is to go with ASND and hence the rally in that stock. So all the merger betting money is now off the table for 3COM and moving onto ASND. This is good news because it shows COM$ now has the confidence to move forward on its own. I have been sceptical about company comments about this topic until now. This new confidence is based on the fact that most areas of the company are starting to show tremendous promise just a year after every area of the company was 'hurtin' for certain'. The quarter just ended and this quarter to date performance must have been very good to allow this level of confidence. RE stockholder suits. Everyone in this thread would have gladly sold thier COM$ holding for $75 when we were in the 20s and low 30s for so long - me included. But we are all now convinced that the momemtum is with us. Its going to be a good ride. Tim
