Steve, I have an account at Fidelity and Datek. Lately I have been doing more trading with Fidelity. The Fox software works good for placing orders and conformations.

However, I hate their quotes. It writes the quotes to the harddrive and is kind of slow. After so many quotes, it gets really slow and you have to erase some data files and then it works ok.

Therefore, I use Datek's quote streamer for my realtime quotes. It works ok most of the time. The problem with Datek's quote streamer is some of the quotes will stop updating and I have missed it because I did not look at the time stamps next to the quotes.

There is no perfect broker. I suggest you open two brokerage accounts at different firms.

Fidelity, offers options, touchtone trading, 24 hr customer service and etc. They seem to have the best customer service. But, do not use their website for trading. It is slow as Xmas. Use the Fox software.

If you want the best in day trading, try Mbtrading.com or some of the others that offer Realtick III software. Its expensive, $300/month.

good luck.
