Thanks Fred and all. Just checked and can get a 650 for about 300.00 or just a 250 for about 141.00 CDN...At least there is something out there. The 650 model will power a 450 computer on a 17 screen for about 30 min. They say 45 min but guess depends on monitor you use. Pretty cheap anyhow for the satisfaction. I even reversed my power in the house through an outlet from my 3500 generator(If you do this , make sure you shut down all the breakers in the entrance panel and unless you have some electrical knowledge, best not to try it)). Runs fridge, couple lights, furnace and computer okay so I guess I will be set if they shut the power off any length of time.
Yes, we were warned that there may be power outages this winter by the utility company. (Guess Calgary is using too much power<ggg just kidding>
Must want to raise the rates or something. This combination of the power control on the computer and the generator will keep me operating and give me some piece of mind if I get in a jam like today.

Regards

Jim
