JAS, I use a POWMAX Datasafe 650VA. After lightning fried my hard disk this summer, I made this purchase ($279) and also a second hard drive that mirror's my first drive. It has about 10-15 minutes worth of juice after a power outage and can be programmed to automatically shutdown your system and bring it back up when the power is back. If the power is restored normally within the 10 minutes, it will abort the shutdown. It also handles spikes, surges, over voltage and blackouts. So far, so good.
