another question (two I guess) for most honorable
thread, tax related:

Can options be rolled out establishing
a tax loss and/or deferring a gain
until January, or does the 30 day
wash rule apply in the case of options with
only different strike dates?

In accounting for the gain on covered
calls, can the gain on the call be taken
as a reduction in the cost of the underlying
security, instead of being taken as a gain
at the time the option position closes out?

Thanks in advance to the learned thread.
