Ed, Drilling next to domes can be pretty tricky ... the edge of the salt is hard to image and drilling the optimum location for structure means getting CLOSE. While I have never had a problem touching the salt stock itself I have found salt wings and gouge material which can give significant drilling problems. If there is any blame to be doled out it is that Benz is just trying to thread the needle with a ball of yarn. Whynotte
