I'll give you an ans. you can use, but it goes against your thinking of investing to far away from owning DELL. I have on my front trading screen that greets me every morning, the following stocks.
DELL, CSCO, INTC, LU, AOL, TLABS, RMBS, T, MSPG, ATHM YHOO, AMZN, EBAY.

The first five are stocks I would buy now and never sell the middle four TLAB, RMBS, MSPG and T could enter into the first six group or could go in to last group, the next three are maybe stocks that are trades that could turn into holds and EBAY should be watched closely, meaning I wouldn't buy it if I didn't own it yet. I have own all of of the above stocks at one time. I now own DELL, CSCO, LU, AOL, RMBS, MSPG, ATHM.

Of the stocks that I own I expect, AOL, RMBS, MSPG, and ATHM to double, and DELL, CSCO, and LU to go up any where from 20% to 50% next year. Strange as it might seem, I think next year will better then last year.

There are so many stocks breaking out now it would be hard to lose money in the market. When one sits back and looks at the fact that original tech stocks of past, IBM and now T have has turned it around, one has to know that we are in a solid bull market.

Oh one more thing, for anyone that wants a play in the xDSL market AWRE is a good one to look at.
