Article - Online Trading:Internet Antics Rock Market Makers:

thestreet.com

You gotta love the bottom of this article where the market makers says individual short term traders add nothing to the market! LOL

These market makers need to look in the mirror! gee I wonder why NASDAQ is proposing fees for limit orders executed through market makers? maybe cus market makers don't like limit orders cus they can't make the spread? maybe cus from Wall St. to Main St. people are
realizing they actually can get a fill on a limit order using an ECN!

the projections are for ECN's to have 60% of Nasdaq trades within three years(currently 20%). I bet it happens faster.

The next time you're trading one of the "inplay" stocks look around and see if you see a market maker on the bid or offer. My guess is he will be 2 bucks up or down the pole.
