Mike, Skeets, and Roq,

Thanks for your comments.

Mike, I read several of your IFC posts a couple days ago (including suspenders). I've become increasingly bearish over the past year, and yourself and the others on the thread present an appealing way of benefiting from both the up and down moves in equities.

I'm at the point now where I'm almost 60% cash because I currently only feel comfortable holding "long" position in stocks. When I can't find many good long opportunities that makes things a little boring, and the inflexibility certainly limits me. That you mention a put is generally better investment than a short is what has me interested at this point in time.

FWIW, I've never purchased an option, and really don't even know how to evaluate them. The time element in puts/calls seems to require a fundamentally different kind of analysis than buying stock long. Essentially measuring the risk/reward with puts/calls is foreign to me.

I will look into everyone's suggestions and see what I can learn. Thanks again,

Shane
