CyberShop signs pact with Amazon.com

JERSEY CITY, N.J., Dec 9 (Reuters) - Online retailer CyberShop International Inc. said Wednesday it has entered into an agreement with Internet book and music retailer Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq:AMZN - news)

As part of the agreement, CyberShop's products from electronics.net, www.electronics.net, and egift, www.egift.com, are listed in Amazon's new comparison shopping service, ''Shop the Web,'' CyberShop said in a statement. Its stock was last up 1-1/16 at 20-7/16.

Products from electronics.net and egift will be accessible to Amazon's customers with hyperlinks directly from Amazon to individual product listings on the company's sites. The links will also be included in other shopping destinations, such as Go2Net's ''WebMarket,'' CNET's ''Snap!'' and Wired HotBot's ''ShopWired,'' for which Junglee supplies content.

Earlier this month, CyberShop entered a pact with Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) to place two of its Internet shopping sites on the MSN Shopping channel.

The agreement is also part of Amazon.com's plan to form partnerships with Web retailers, helping the company to become a broad-based Web retailer. Amazon.com's stock was last at 214-1/8, up 10-1/16 on the day.

''CyberShop is pleased to be able to join with Amazon for the launch of its new service,'' said Jeff Tauber, Chairman and CEO. ''We have always explored creative ways to generate more qualified online traffic and believe Amazon's dedicated customer base, who are already comfortable with online transactions, is a natural fit with our product mix.''
