Hello JBL,

The notion that Americans would rise up in a revolution if Clinton were impeached is laughable, regardless of whether witnesses for the Tweedledee Party or the Tweedledum Party say it.

No one has said that Americans don't care about perjury. Perhaps they believe lying in a civil case brought on by what many perceive as a man's political enemies does not rise to the level of an impeachable offense. There's a difference between not caring and believing the punishment should fit the crime.

Big difference, no?

And though they may not pick up their pitchforks or 9mm handguns and start killing Republicans, the Democrats won't let the public forget about the impeachment they didn't want--against the man who oversaw both the largest peacetime expansion of the economy in history and a reduction of the the deficit--in the months preceding November 2000. And, though both sides of the aisle may spout off about principle and honor and law, given the fact that Clinton is just a defanged lame duck, November 2000 is really all that counts in this game, isn't it?

regards
