A lot can happen to this company and the stock price. The stock traded below $1 for years before Suncor came in and announced plans to work with Southern Pacific Petroleum. After they announced news of the coordinated effort the stock rose steadily to a high of 3 5/8 before falling back to 1 11/16 after news that the Australian gov't was backing off of some tax benefits they were providing to the deal. The stock then rose again as Suncor reiterated their interest in the development, and really took a jump once the arrangement hit CNBC. I do think that the current price reflects pure optimism that the plan will go through and that there are no hitches. Again I think the stock will spike on the firm Suncor news to go ahead with the deal, but...if anything goes wrong in the least bit in the coming months/years, the stock could take significant hits. I will continue to watch the stock and if it drops some day to levels I feel are attractive again, I may again jump aboard.
