Interesting news censorship by CNBC, Daily Stocks, re ASTM, SPGLA

I think we all realize at this point that CNBC is no longer going to report the true winners of the day, unless those winners are well-known, large companies like INTC, CPQ, etc. and the gains are only a few to maybe 25%. If any company really goes up, it will simply be ignored, like it did not happen, unless it is a takeover situation where the gain is capped by the takeover price, as in the case of SJK. I kept monitoring the dbc site (daily stocks) and their listing of the top 10 percentage gainers yesterday, and NOWHERE do they mention either SPGLA or ASTM. According to that site, the top two gainers were FNBR and USSB, with gains of 43 and 38% respectively. What BULL****. Last time I checked my calculator, a gain of over 90% is larger than a gain of 43%! In fact, according to that list, STVI, with a gain of 21.7% is a bigger gain than a stock like ASTM with a gain of 97%. In fact, even SPGLA, at the end of the day, was up 36%, which is still much greater than STVI with it's 22% gain.

In fact, there were 5 companies that had gains greater than FNBR. Those five were XMCM, ASTM, TCTV, VDATW, and ZMBA. It is especially outrageous that SPGLA was not mentioned by either CNBC or Daily Stocks, since this is a company with over $2B in sales and 100 million shares of stock, while STVI has sales of about $100M and about 4 million shares outstanding! At no time during the day did I see SPGLA mentioned as one of the top winners.

It is obvious that there is some very serious censorship going on here, by CNBC, Daily Stocks, and possibly others. I know that censorship of the news is common, having watched the "wild feeds" on my satellite system during the Gulf War, and then switching to the "official" CNN and other broadcasts, only to see the same video, but with TOTALLY, 180% DIFFERENT voice-overs "reporting" the information.

I emailed dbc to find out why they censor the financial news, but I do not expect a response. I also do not expect CNBC to ever report the true winners accurately, unless they are IPO's, where everyone expects excesses, or large, widely held stocks that have "tame" gains.

Sad to see even the financial "news" being censored, ignored, and not accurately reported.

Just my 2 cents,
Ed
