Anyone follow SDC closely ? ( WOW ! ) - a real sleeper here...

Is this ''the'' company that can't get any respect ? The ''Kuwaiti'' factor ? Strong, strong balance sheet; NO DEBT, new, hi-tech equipment, Internationally diversified, land & offshore... read & downloaded their last quarterly from the free Edgar site:

sec.gov

Look at their balance sheet - superb ! Look at their dayrates and utilization - much stronger than all most any other driller. Super equipment.... I never really looked at this company that closely. Did some research last night and this is a ''gem'' from any direction of analysis. Buying today; I like this company on paper much better than RDC ESV GLM ... someone tell me what I'm missing here, if anything ? Seems too cheap to be true; disproportionate to it's peers value-wise. They have better equipment, a balance sheet equal or superior to ESV or RDC, and their dayrates & utilization are better than any of their peers; this is ''the'' best valued driller- period; imho.

...an example of their equipment/technology:

<<"DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 1998--Santa Fe International Corporation (NYSE:SDC.N) today announced it has been awarded a three-year contract for a new 3,000 horsepower land rig in Kuwait. The contract is with Kuwait Oil Company.

The new rig, to be named Santa Fe Rig 180, will cost $19.5
million and will be larger than any land rig currently working in the
Middle East. Capable of drilling to 30,000 feet, the rig will be
equipped with three mud pumps, 15,000 psi blowout preventers, a high torque top drive, and five diesel engines with SCR system. Operations are expected to commence in June 1999">>

Wow; does this Rig give an Oilman a ''woodie'' or what <VBG> ? ,..gotta think they are going to have steady work with the Kuwaiti Oil company...

comments anyone ?
