>>What motivates you to
spent so much time and energy following this company so diligently.<<

I guess two years of involvement with FIBR and what has led to a lot of knowledge of the telecom industry. I own Lucent now so I still have an interest in the area and I follow just about any story on fiber optics, dwdm and other networking/telecommunications related stuff. The FCC is another dynamic that affects these companies which is not well understood and rarely discussed. I guess it's just a hobby, I don't think the volume of my posts indicate I spend a vast amount of energy doing this.

For the time I owned Osicom I always thought they had a chance and I think they still do. But when you realize the risks involved and the uphill climb of a small company like this I really believe averaging down is dangerous, so I didn't. FIBR would need to hit somewhere in the 20's for me to be in the black. After two years I couldn't stand the actual loss or the "opportunity loss" of not being in another stock. Thier failure with IQX was telling in my opinion. Apparently a decent product, but somehow, it's configuration or capabilities did not meet the demand of the market. Such a failure is a management failure. I now have to doubt if they put the right emphasis into GigaMux. In other words it may have great features, but potential customers favor some feature they decided not to emphasize in it's design. Who knows though, there is still a chance they could hit a home run.

I think the Netsilicon is easily copied and like all chips that's a tough business. They don't control key costs which limits thier competativness. I can easily imagine a Texas Inst., Intel or Micron even Lucent who all have fab shops killing them on price, even if these guys don't yet have a netsilicon type chip, I can't imagine it is that difficult. Once again FIBR only needs some fringe sales in this area to show vast earnings improvements but I don't know how high that can propell FIBR.

Good luck,

Scott
