Raffica: One who comes to mind is columnist Dreman. Laslo Biyrini has been very positive past half dozen years when others were urging caution; his rules for stock selection have enabled many gains for his clients/readers. Same with Dreman - and with a 25+ year record. Marty Whitman now in Financial World Mag too might better be titled with the moniker than Van Brady. Maybe it's in the meaning of guru. I think a guru should have a methodology and be able to teach you or show you. If there are only educated guesses in this market, then for me, I need to know the why of the stock pick and show me the educated part of the guess. Maybe for others, guru means leader as in -- who cares how he does it, but that he does it (picks winners) Man says to buy, we ought really consider buying. My comments refer to this only. I have no opinion on ADVP-- it may be the best stock of 1997. Common ground for us might be that ADVP is worth a looksee regardless of who brings it to our attention. To me the bigger question is: are there really gurus out there (not just in Forbes), and can I find and follow them and make money and keep making money and hold these gains by following such people. For me the answer is yes indeed. Paul Senior
