SINGAPORE, 1998 DEC 10 (Newsbytes) -- By Adam Creed, Newsbytes. Dell Computer Corp. [NASDAQ:DELL] has added features to its Asia-Pacific direct computer sales to help customers navigate the site and, hopefully, buy PCs over the Web more easily.

Dell's Asia-Pacific Web site, dell.com , now includes a shopping cart, side-by-side comparison displays, a "best buy" feature that allows buyers to be made aware of best prices based on their required system configurations, and a help feature that sends e-mail to salespeople who follow up by telephone.

"The Dell Internet store's substantial improvements are specifically designed to increase the effectiveness for our customers," said John J. Legere, president of Dell Asia-Pacific.

Dell services its Asia-Pacific customers from manufcaturing facilities in Penang, Malaysia and Xiamen, China.
