penni,
The NEA has become a spear head for social engineering. Forcing some person's values into my child's education that I am strongly opposed to. Desensitizing my child to the wrongness of many things, like pre-marital sex (distributing condoms, abortions without the knowledge of the parents, sex education taken out of the domain of the home and put in school to be handles the way they feel is appropriate), homosexuality is presented as a lifestyle choice (heather has two mommies and other books created such an uproar they were withdrawn by the NEA, but their aim is still to control the child's mind, they are just taking smaller steps). These are two top very anti-christian thrusts in the public schools. These agenda's violate my religious freedom to raise my child by the standards of my faith. The standards of christianity if they were still taught in schools can do nobody any harm. It would teach a better code of conduct than the no-God secularism of today. Or would some parents prefer the risk of their child having sex at 13 and an abortion at 14 or maybe starting to raise their own child at 15?
