IMHO, getting the NT 4.0 res kit supplement 2 (CD Rom only) may be the best way to go. I have both the res kit and the supplement, and have never found the book very helpful. Plus, the supp 2 CD has everything on all the previous CDs (and perhaps in the book--though this may be wrong--others?) and is notably cheaper than the original resource kit.
