Excellent point. I have made the point here several times that federal employees retirement plan that invests in the stock market buys something approximating S&P 500. Don't know the exact breakdown between stock fund, bond fund, and money market fund, but the agency says total in all three = $6 trillion.

So, a rising tide does not lift all boats, just the S&P 500.
