Company Press Release

Year 2000 Wire/Alydaar Joins HP Cure2000
Program and Verifies Code for Y2K Compliance

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 1998--Alydaar Software Corporation (NASDAQ: ALYD -
news) today announced they have joined Hewlett-Packard Company's (NYSE:HWP - news) Cure2000 Partners
program, a portfolio of Y2K tool and service providers with expertise in HP systems.

Under the terms of the agreement, HP will include Alydaar on its list of recommended service providers to help HP
customers with Y2K planning, testing, hardware and software conversion, and overall implementation. HP will refer
clients to Alydaar for Alydaar to perform its services, including Independent Validation Verification (IVV), a process to
confirm that code will successfully operate in the year 2000.

''We are pleased to add Alydaar to HP's Cure2000 list of knowledgeable Y2K providers,'' said Bernard de Valence,
general manager of HP's Worldwide Year 2000 Program. ''Alydaar has an automated approach to help companies
verify that Y2K problems have been fixed. Verification is an important step in Year 2000 compliance. Alydaar and
other Cure2000 partners are enabling customers to prepare effectively for the next millenium.''

The Millenium Audit

Currently, there is no standard for companies to use to gauge whether their software is 100% Year 2000 compliant.
IVV refers to the process by which Alydaar and other organizations verify that a company's code will successfully
transition to and operate in the Year 2000 and beyond. As with the initial Y2K fix, code verification can be costly in
terms of time and money.

Alydaar is one of the only companies to date that has a fully automated process capable of verifying Y2K work.
Alydaar's SmartAudit process is a line-by-line verification of the application code itself for Y2K compliance. In
addition, it identifies specific reference points within the code where current logic will not function properly in the new
millennium. SmartAudit can be performed on pre- or post-compliant applications, as well as expanded and
non-expanded code.

Free Audit Estimates

HP customers will be able to receive quotes for IVV audits from Alydaar directly over the Internet. To get an estimate
on the time and cost of an IVV audit, HP customers can send Alydaar information on their systems, languages and
quantity of code. Alydaar will send back an electronic estimate of the time and cost of their IVV audit project.

''This agreement underscores our commitment to solving HP customers' Y2K problems,'' said Robert F. Gruder,
Chairman and CEO of Alydaar. ''Alydaar has already remediated code for some of HP's largest customers
worldwide. With less than 400 days remaining before the Year 2000, we believe that Alydaar can help companies of
any size complete or verify their Year 2000 work. We look forward to working with HP customers to combat and
overcome their Year 2000 dilemmas.''
