I also would agree with him about local school boards. It has been years since I have had any kids in the public school systems, but unless things have changed drastically, most are a disaster when it comes to curriculum matters. The folks who get elected to local school boards are usually public-spirited, good, nice, kind people, but also usually pretty badly educated themselves and with little real grasp of what education really involves. Now, school boards generally have a LOT of control over curriculum, and the results are evident...
