The FA on T is very concerning in regards to the TCI merger. T is getting a boost right now for 2 reasons:

1. The FCC is threatening to say no to the SWB/AIT and BEL/GTE mergers. In reality the FCC holds very little power and the FTC in the past has said they are not against these mergers and do not listen to the FCC.

2. T just bought the IBM Global Network. Now this may sound good but that network is VERY old. Basically T bought IBM has a customer for their e-business. The negative here is that T does not have an exclusive agreement with IBM.

I have some T in my account right now but I plan to dump it as soon as the chart turns south.

I believe Telephony stocks in general will do well over the next year once the internet crazy wears off. Someone will wake up one day and realize the more successful the internets are, the IXCs will also benefit since they are the transport medium.
