<OT OT OT> freeus,
You can log into SI when you are suspended but you cant post, even private messages. Mine lasted 3 days. Lots of people get suspended indefinitely too, btw. For the benefit of people here (especially VOLTAIRE <ggg>) - anyone can complain about anybody else here on SI to Bob. i dont need to tell you guys that there are a lot of (what I see as) immature people that use this "complaining to SI" as a way to win arguments. Anyway if you are arguing with someone and they complain to SI then you will get this warning in your email. Youll know if you get one of those to just leave - right then, leave the thread, and dont ever post to those people again, NO MATTER WHO IS RIGHT.
In my case, I was arguing with this person on one of the Clinton threads because I like politics. She'd been ragging on me for a long time with a lot of catty remarks and I just put up with it. One day I was arguing with her and she complained to SI. Bob sent us BOTH a warning (that tells you how lame she was, she complained and got a warning herself, see what I mean) but then I continued arguing with people anyway because I thought it was a "coffee shop" thread so as long as I didnt get *personal* I was ok. To my surprise, I logged in on a friday and found out I was suspended for 3 posts: 1) I called Ken Starr a pompous moral hypocrite, 2) I called 3 guys over there "a bunch of little boys" as in, 'you 3 are a bunch of little boys' - and I wasnt even arguing with them in that case, just trying to be funny, and 3) I called the person that reported me a "member of the religious right". So that was the just of it.
I dont think many people know how stringent SI is on these policies and I just want everyone to know especially since they are charging $300. for memberships. I was really irked by this I must say, because I was a real contributor to this other thread and this other person just came on to fight with me that was it. Somehow as has been alluded to here that should matter to SI mgmt but it does not. I just want to point that out for the benefit of others here.
