From the Yahoo boards.. a comparison of relative stocks.
Posted by double digit..... FYI, I decided to expand my comparison to other stocks in the same sector as MSGI. Here's all of the important data: BV = Book Value P/B = Price/Book P/S = Price/Sales Symbol Price #Empl Shares Float BV P/B P/S Sales Market Cap ALMI $3.645 263 11.1M 10.3M $0.74 5.07 1.92 $21.3M $40.1M BFLY $13.06 11 2.72M 2.2M $1.58 8.8 n/a $3.9M $35.5M CDWI $24.74 40 3.55M 2.8M $6.04 3.54 4.42 $12.7M $87.9M DCTI $7.875 31 13.3M 4.8M $1.84 4.0 58.5 $1.1M $105.4M FVHI $4.468 70 33.1M 10.6M $0.24 19.07 61.67 $1.19M $147.3M KTEL $12.50 189 8.43M 1.9M $0.11 121.69 1.92 $79.3M $104.2M LEAP $3.06 332 13.6M 6.3M $2.28 1.34 1.11 $38M $41.8M SEVL $3.1875 30 17.6M 10.7M $0.03 105.38 16.78 $2.85M $56.6M SHRP $11.06 1300 8.53M 1.9M $3.06 3.71 0.43 $228.3M $94.4M SKYM $4.50 190 8.5M 2.0M $1.29 3.88 0.66 $64.5M $38.3M MSGI $3.75 265 13.1M 6.8M $1.32 2.88 0.74 $61.1M $49.1M By my comparisons, MSGI is undervalued. Looking at the other 10 stocks: 8 have a higher price, 2 have more employees, 4 have more shares outstanding, 3 have more shares on the float, 5 have a lower book value, 9 have a higher price to book value, 7 have a higher price to sales value, 7 have lower sales, and 6 have a higher market capitalization. So let's focus on price, price to book value, sales to book value, sales, and market capitalization. I have a few questions: 1) With 3 times the sales, shouldn't MSGI be trading at a much higher price than ALMI? They're almost priced the same! 2) With 15 times the sales, and a similar book value, shouldn't MSGI be trading higher than BFLY which is currently at $13.06 3) With 5 times the sales as CDWI, shouldn't MSGI have a higher price and market capitalization. CDWI is selling for $24.75 and has a market cap of $87.9M 4) With 60 times the sales of DCTI, shouldn't MSGI have a higher price and market capitalization. DCTI is selling for $7.875 and has a market cap of $105M. 5) With 60 times the sales of FVHI, shouldn't MSGI have a higher market capitalization. FVHI has a market cap of $147M. 6)With a higher book value than KTEL, shouldn't MSGI have a higher stock price and market capitalization? KTEL is trading at $12.50 with a market cap of $104.2M. 7) With 50% higher sales than LEAP, shouldn't MSGI have a higher price to sales ratio? LEAP has a price to sales ratio of 1.11 vs. MSGI's 0.74 8) With 16 times the sales and a much better book value than SEVL, shouldn't MSGI have a higher market cap? SEVL's market cap is $56.6M 9) With a lower price to book and lower price to sales than SHRP, shouldn't MSGI be priced more similarly to SHRP at $11.06? 10) With almost identical sales, almost identical book value, and a lower price to sales, shouldn't MSGI be priced at least the same as SKYM? SKYM is trading at $4.50. I think in comparing all of these stocks of a similar nature, it is clearly evident that MSGI is undervalued. This stock should never trade below $4.50, and should probably be trading at more like $10.00 with BFLY, KTEL, and SHRP. Especially since they are expected to post a 0.06 profit this quarter and a 0.26 profit for the year. What's the difference? The difference is that BFLY, KTEL and SHRP have all had extra exposure in the press, on CNBC, etc. As soon as the analysts and major brokerage houses discover MSGI, this stock will move up to those levels. Our time will come! Good Investing!! Double Digit |
