My point was, he has already the margin power, simply buy back the covered-calls would not increase his margin power unless he sells his stocks.

Why there are so many buyers of out-of-money calls/puts? My guess is that people need them to hedge their shorts/longs; it's tough to believe that many people are willing to pay 5 dollars premium each share for a $240 call which will expire in one week; unless he is short on AMZN.

But, you never know, there are SO MANY gamblers out there.
