John, << Tava, making up their mind about business >>
I read the recent 10q, 10k, and 8k. This is how I see Tava. A struggling company in the information and controller business awakens
to the fact that many embedded chips in the automation of equipment
throughout their customer base are going to create system failures.
Their customer base is impressive. If I were Tava, my 1st concern
would be liability to my customers. They begin by putting their own
house in order. y2k compliant. Now to resolve their client's problems
and cover their ass on legal issues. This began in 1997. Suddenly
the core business is 2nd fiddle to y2k business. Opportunity opens
as they broaden the y2k solutions beyond their clients. Vertical
integration seems it can broaden their position to the core business.
Acquisitions are made to fill these gaps. Openly they admit that
comparing pre-y2k Tava with the current Tava is nothing short of
difficult. It comes down to are the acquisitions going to be accretive
to earnings or burdens of debt. JMO. Ask a question, then check the
filings. I think it's all there. The biggest question mark I have is
that they are basing revenues on book and not bill. This zapped one
other y2k I own, and is of concern. On a positive note, they've a
built in customer base thanks to their core business.
