Did you know that many lawsuits are withdrawn in the discovery phase because one side or the other doesn't want to publicly reveal facts that may or may not have bearing on the actual action? Defendants often settle rather than give in to discovery. And on the flip side of the coin, plaintiffs also give up when a good defense attorney starts his detective work. Discovery is the most interesting phase of any suit. Except for those very few attorneys who can be very entertaining in the courtroom, and then that's the best part.
