Dear Hubert, Go to the Cyto thread, company has some development for prostate cancer. It's a small biotech company. If you read the thread I think you might find some other sites with information on some of the newer treatments for the disease.

I think you are right to find any and all information on your specific problem since we are now in charge of our own healthcare. More specifically, I think, we are in charge of preventive care since we are living longer and health care is becoming more expensive and procdures more complex, The Dr's have less time to explain these things to us since they are now working for the HMO and doing piece work (seeing less patients--more money in the till for him).

I am also a proponent of homeopothy, natural medicine, herbs, minerals and vitamins. Try some of the natural health threads. I know this is not for all since we were raised with a mindset to take a drug for all that ails us. However, we can only educate ourselves and then come to a decision as to what is best for us. I really beleive we are going to play a bigger part in our own care in the future. I was reading on another thread where the wife had breast cancer. When she was sent home, she and the family had to learn how to do nursing care for her recovery.

I don't know if you watch ER but some of the topics they touch on are directly related to what's happeining in health care. One this week was bottom line showed too much expense for floor nurses 2 had to go. I guess I'm rambling on about something your'e probably not interested in. IMHO we are all going to be faced with this crisis in one way or another. I feel that we need to be more pro-active and not wait until we are seniors and not really competent or capable of fighting for our health care and just let someone else be in charge of our life or death.
