OK, your in a rush...I'll do the best I can

Minotaur is the current assembler of choice so the component considerations are with his inventory in mind. ( His site is sure slow tonight..I hope we do not have another victim of success.

Celeron 300a overclocked to 450 128 ram (100 sdram) Should I pay up for Corsair or other? ABIT BH6 motherboard

This is the combo to get. Even if you choose to not overclock the machine will be snappy and will upgrade to a 450+ CPU.. Using Minotaur as a guide go for the Corsair ram IMO. If I had my choice it would be Samsung. The ABIT BH6 has good Internet support..kinda safety in numbers and universal support here. $515

10.1GB IBM Deskstar ATA-3 at 7200 Or the 8+/- model?

8 GB and 5400 RPM should be enough. With 128 MB ram you will not swap to the harddrive very often. It will boot a little slower. It will take you awhile to fill 8 GB. Add another drive later if you need it.
$221

Video Card Maxtor Mistique G200 or ???

<b<MATROX Millenium II AGP 8 MB ( his site shows the Mystique backordered. Matrox has a good reputation for driver updates. ATI is an alternative. $132

Sound card ??? something cheap as I won't be into 3D

Ensonique $29

Case and cooling enough for the overclocking heat

In Win Q500a Full tower with 300 watt PS

US Robotics Internal Sportster V 90 56K

Standard floppy, 32x CD, internal ZIP drive.

floppy $19 Toshiba 32X $59 ( too many posts, wasn't it you that agreed to pass on the zip?)

use my old mouse and keyboard

$0..I like the scroll on the new mice, it is great for surfing.

Win 98 $95

$1293 +30? assembly total $1323 + ship and tax
check my arithmetic

I can't help much with the monitors. The $600 21 in refurbs sound good but you have to find them. I have Viewsonic and NEC monitors and like them both. Go for 21 in if you can afford it and have the space. You might find a good deal on a Viewsonic G10 21 in.

BTW, if you are using the screw driver as a pry tool or to drive screws you hold the large end. If you are using it as a hammer to tap things you hold the thin shiny end. <g>
