Sigmund....

No I don't recall the NC article but assuredly the state could do well by seeking immediate measures via US Microbics technology. But then again it seems that many other states could also benefit greatly. Perhaps they are watching and patiently awaiting microbial production . I feel like an expecting father waiting for these BUGS..... to develop. I believe the NC issue revolved around a statewide moratorium on hog producers until this waste issue was settled. Beyond that I can say that the site I provided had some key issues that are still pending and I believe I read where the moratorium was still intact.....

Yes I recall reading your comments regarding the problem with the excessive nitrogen and the potable water supply for Florida some time ago. I believe BUGS stock was about half of its current price. Purple loosestrife is a problem in the mid west waterways. It is pretty to look at but multiplys quickly and dominates everthing else. Many many years ago I was told that the common lilly-pad and its beautiful flower were not indiginous to the north. The story goes a woman vacationing in Florida picked one and brought it back to her locale. Whammm.... lilly pads sprouted up everywhere. Along those same lines the rough fish (carp) was introduced in the U.S. from China sometime in the 1800's. Whammm.... carp scuttle about in all the US waterways like Russian subs in the Atlantic.

I also recall reading about a fresh water weed-eating fish that grew to over 100 pounds. I believe a southern state was testing the viability of employing that species as a remedy to some of their excessive weed growths (caused by excessive nitrogen... agricultural run-off is in large part responsible for this) The Department of Natural resources was concerned that this large imported fish could wreak havoc on the fragile aqua ecosystems if they reproduced like fish have a tendency to do without predators. What are you going to introduce to eat a 100 pond fish? In northern Wisconsin the Native Americans would have a field day with those guys. Tribal treatys allow for the spearing of fish on certain lakes. This obviously creates bad blood with the resort owners and the non-red populations of sport fisherman. People go to blows over this spearing. The state and certain sportsmen clubs have offered to buy back these rights but the Native Americans are making soooo much money from their gambling activities that they laughed at the offer.

For a number of years I deer hunted annually with some great Native Americans... one early morning at breakfast they spoke about the Winnebago Native Americans gambling dividends... received by each and every member of their clan.... I want to say it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $16,000 that year. Every Winnebago man, woman and child received that sum from the proceeds of the revenues produced from their casinos. BTW the elder huntmaster picked up the breakfast tab for me and I was unceromoniously made an affiliate Winnebago without perks of course.

Anyhow..... are you hoping for a girl or a boy microbe batch? I suspect that if Mr. Brehm had a sense of humor he would mail out cigars to all long time share holders when the fisrt batch of microbes is incubated. $5 by Christmas??
