Hi Hutch:
I grow more curious each day..I have been hearing about more and more layoffs on good jobs..and then I am expecting many many mergers in Europe..consumers form the underlying basis of world economies.
and I am watching the very wealthy getting wealthier each day..
I never paid attention to government statistics on inflation..I just watch all the products I buy, except for technology, go higher and higher..(except for mortgage expenses which is incredibly positive for so very many people)(just saw a store the other day change its pricing and everything is 99 cents..most of the things come from China..great buys)
anyways I am seeing deflationary trends, except in real estate and services. The internet hasn't kicked in yet but it is really going to
produce even stronger deflationary trends..so many people will buy from the net..(geez I can buy a computer in NJ and not have to pay sales tax of 8 1/2--that could be over a 100 dollar savings right there)the competition will produce smaller and smaller margins..
I forgot the number of people who are receiving social security and the number of people whose pension plan is indexed to government's numbers..that really reduces buying power..
How in the world can Greenspan and company control this artificial
economy? Whether or not the add or withdraw liquidity at this point,
it seems that things have gone to such an extreme, there will be a massive c change soon..it just seems as if it has become a stock market economy here..and a financial disaster in the emerging countries..sorry I am tired and wish I could be clearer and more critical..
I think as we get closer to the financial disaster, gold will go into bull market unless I see policies put in place to help the consumers
of the world rather than the financial types and corporations whose primary concern is to shareholders..
