Sure, it's familiar. Clarence Thomas was confirmed, after a couple ugly weeks, and now sits on the Supreme Court for life. He said more than that he hadn't formed an opinion on Roe v. Wade, but do you think it's true he had no opinion on the matter? It depends on what you mean by opinion, I guess. Still, the idea of impeaching Clarence Thomas, "the best man for the job", has never come up, to my understanding. "Best man for the job", "I was out of the loop", yes, we really expect our presidents to set an example of honesty, don't we?
It's all politics, Les. I don't recall Democrats pushing and funding civil suits against sitting Republican presidents, in conjunction with set-up tactics by special prosecutors, but I may have missed that one.
