Does look like there is a massive propaganda campaign to sell the idea that oil prices will depressed forever. Otherwise these big oil mergers would meet a lot of resistance from the public and the anti-trust people. My cynical outlook tells me that prices will move up quite a bit soon after this merger wave is done. But not one day earlier.
