Todd,

Thanks for the post. I am interested in how CF may be useful in mobile computing such as palm PC's, GPS units, mobile phones and the like where storage capacity is not nearly as crucial as digital photography. It is harder to get a read on the market demand in this setting although several of these devices include a CF slot.

Has anyone used CF for these applications? Is it useful?

P.S. Kodak is going to sell a bunch of cameras this season. Several on-line electronics houses are out of the top sellers and have more on back order. The 8 MB card in the DC210plus is reportedly SNDK's, but the digital science cards are both Lexar and SNDK. Therefore I would only buy a card with SNDK on it rather that a marked up Kodak card that has a 50-50 chance of being a competitor's product. So much for exclusivity deals. Guess Kodak is playing SNDK and Lexar off of each other to get a better deal on OEM shipments. The faster write times on the Lexar product may have peaked their interest, although I don't feel it makes any difference in performance with present day digital cameras. This will need to be addressed by SNDK in the near future.
