Burt & Intel Investors - Kurlak's Comments Illustrate his Complete Misunderstanding of Intel's business.

The following paragraph comes directly from Kurlak's Irrational Exuberance report from yesterday"

askmerrill.com

"Yes, pricing has stabilized due to
cut backs in production and capital spending but this has
no impact on demand. And while production is down,
capacity is not. Unused capacity is sufficient to allow for
an estimated 45% increase in semiconductor production.
Indeed, Intel is cutting its spending sharply now due to
excess capacity and smaller die sizes and this is being
repeated around the world.
"

Intel has publicly stated they are CAPACITY LIMITED - having difficulty meeting customer demands for x86 CPUs - but Kurlak states that Intel has EXCESS capacity !

Further, Kurlak states that Intel has "smaller die sizes". The Celeron is 154 sq. mm vs 131 sq. mm for a Pentium II !! Kurlak - the dumbkopf analyst DOESN'T EVEN KNOW THIS!

And Kurlak states that 8 million Celerons will ship this quarter !

Katmai will be bigger than the Pentium II, The DIXON chip - with even more L2 cache - will be larger than the Celeron A - and Intel has publicly admitted they will be adding HUGE L2 caches to their CPUs - even as they shrink the process to 0.18 microns - which will result in still larger chips!

Clearly, KURLAK doesn't understand Intel, their product direction nor the CPU market.

This guy is definitely ready to be out out to pasture.
