I would sell any of my holdings if I thought they would underperform. I would have sold CPQ last year if I had known where it was going to trade in '98. I don't intend to make the same mistake on my DELL holdings next year.

Make no mistake, you do not know where DELL is going to trade in 1999. Nobody knows. You only think that the stock is going to underperform.

Your investments are your choice, but if you think that the underlying business is going to outperform while the stock is going to underperform, perhaps the rational choice is to accumulate more, not sell. OTOH if you think that the underlying business is going to underperform, surely that is good enough reason to sell the stock. Your business knowledge and contacts puts you in a unique position to relatively assess these two possibilities. I would appreciate if you can let the rest of us know as well. <vbg>
