MIQ Press Release and Comments
Bulletin # DEC98-05
ONCE YOU'VE READ THE HEADLINES, COME TO AGORA FOR THE NEWS
Good morning to you all. Please find enclosed the latest drill results released by Mirandor Explorations and Kinross Gold Corp. Due to the confidentiality of the drill results, we received a copy of the drill results at the same time as they hit the regular news wires. We are currently awaiting further commentary from the company.
In the meantime, we would like to point out the following highlights:
1] The companies have released the results from 8 drill holes. Given the extensive drilling at Railroad to date, we would expect further holes to be released in the near future. Currently, two (2) drill rigs are in use at Railroad;
2] (Excerpt) "The geologic setting and host rocks are largely similar to those at the nearby Rain deposit where Newmont produced more than one million ounces of gold from an open pit and is currently developing an underground resource for production."
Typically, such statements made by juniors can be dismissed as promotional commentary. However, such statements being made while under joint venture with Kinross Gold Corporation must be given more weight and credibility;
3] Step out holes now further extend the known strike length of the POD deposit to the east;
4] The companies found an new discovery hole, which is located approximately 2,900 feet south southeast of the POD deposit towards the Bunker Hill zone; and
5] All assays are comfortably above 0.02 oz/ton, which MIQ has previously advised is the minimum necessary to be feasible in the Carlin Trend.
As soon as we have further commentary from the company regarding these drill results, we will pass them on.

PRESS RELEASE DECEMBER 11, 1998
Exploration Mirandor Inc. (Montreal Stock Exchange-MIQ) is pleased to announce that it has received the following information from Kinross Gold Corporation concerning the Railroad project in Nevada.
The drilling program continues at the Railroad Project, where Kinross is earning a 60% joint venture interest in a large Carlin Trend land position with Exploration Mirandor Inc. Work to date has provided encouragement at several near-surface targets. Step-out drilling in one area has cut promising mineralization. A fence of three holes had the following mineralized intersections:
Hole # Thickness Depth Assay gold feet feet oz/ton K98-26 35 45 - 80 0.2374 K98-27 85 75-160 0.0819 includes 20 feet@ 0.227
K98-36 100 145-245 0.0392 includes 20 feet@ 0.102
In the near vicinity drilling has also hit:
Hole # Thickness Depth Assay gold feet feet oz/ton K98-18 30 15-45 0.036 K98-30 80 90-170 0.046 K98-37 105 265-370 0.121 K98-49 70 855-925 0.110 K98-55 85 375-455 0.072
The geologic setting and hostrocks are largely similar to those at the nearby Rain deposit where Newmont produced more than one million ounces of gold from an open pit and is currently developing an underground resource for production.
Holes 26, 27, 36 were drilled on section and was a step out fence designed to discover the possible continuation of the surface POD deposit (geologic resources as at July 1997 of 1.4 million ton @ 0.085oz/ton gold), (D. Gaudreault, July 1997). These step out holes now further extend the known stike length of the POD deposit to the east.
Holes 18, 37 and 55 were drilled in the vicinity, while hole #30 was drilled approximately 1,400 feet east of the POD deposit.
Hole # 49 is a new discovery hole and is located approximately 2,900 feet south southeast of the POD deposit towards the Bunker Hill zone which was discovered in 1997 by Mirandor. Bunker Hill is located some 4,000 feet southeast of hole 49.
Kinross and Mirandor have an agreement whereby Kinross can earn a 50% interest in the Railroad project by expending approximately $10 million on an additional 10% by expending a further $7.5 million on a positive feasibility study.
The Railroad project, consisting of some 55 square miles, is centered on the southern end of the Carlin Trend and lies at the intersection of the NW-SE Carlin Trend and the N-S Piñon anticline structure. It is located within a Carlin erosional "window" exposing at surface favorable lower plate sedimentary rocks. For more information, please contact:
