To state that the FDA rejected AVIR's flumist vaccine is very misleading and to state this happened last Friday is even more misleading. The issue with the FDA applies only to the manufacturing process that AVIR "had" in place at the time of their submission for consideration by the FDA. The FDA isn't questioning the Flumist effectiveness as a treatment for the flu. As to the statement that this all occured last Friday is erroneous. If you carefully read the latest news release, this issue occured in late August in a notification letter from the FDA. This is not new, and shouldn't be reported as occuring last Friday. All MO.
