Hi Gorak - I agree, I could have explained what happened better. I meant "order confirmation screen". That is, the stock was still at 105 7/8+106 when I confirmed my order, and my limit was 106 (ie I really wanted a fast fill and I was willing to pay for it). At some point AFTER the order confirmation screen appeared, the stock downticked, and I got filled at 105 7/8 (the new Ask). Many would say "big deal" - at best, I only got what was fair - I got filled at the Ask, so what? But all brokers I have dealt with in the past would have taken advantage of this situation, filled me at 106, and pocketed the 1/8 themselves. Datek never does this, and it's one of the many reasons why I believe that for me, they're the best value brokerage on the net. For those who've talked here about their slowness at the open, that's been referenced before - it's due to the backlog of orders entered overnight (or worse, over the weekend).
