Better 2d is not on the same level as 32bit color. All current cards have such solid 2d that differences are not noticeable. 32bpp is noticable. Keep in mind that though the difference right now is not HUGE (but noticeable, as Chip said), games that are designed from the ground up to support 32 will be significantly better looking, from what I have heard.

The PROBLEM is that TDFX has been proven wrong by ATI regarding the performance hit thing. EVEN if it is rigged by disabling 16 bit or using additional hardware for 32...if ATI can do it, why couldn't TDFX? The other PROBLEM is that while TDFX says that it isn't necessary to support 32bpp right now (which from a practical standpoint, I agree), GAMERS AND DEVELOPERS are asking for it, and other companies are complying. The GAMING HARDWARE SPECIALIST, TDFX, is not responding.

RE: 3dmark, believe it is at 3Dmark.com :) and If you go to diamondmm.com, tech support and run a search for USB you will get a llist with several hits regarding their mobos, and then stuff relating to graphics cards. on one of the pages is a link to a mobo maker that has the file.

Sun, ain't it funny how some people can't tell when others are just kidding? :)
